About
Flint native Kiara Tyler graduated college in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. After returning home & unable to find work, Kiara began making custom shoe boxes to earn money. The venture gained the attention of Deion Sanders and Kiara was given advice to take a different route. With this new advice, Kiara decided to create a clothing brand originally named “Fly By Air” but it didn't stick so “Kalm” was birthed. After sourcing manufacturers for two years Kiara started Kalm with $500 on October 15, 2016. Driving state to state and locally making personal deliveries out the trunk of her car and from her previous apartment in Sunridge, Kiara earned over $100,000 in the first 18 months. April of 2018, Kalm moved into the Ferris Wheel Building & started receiving much needed mentorship. This move allowed Kalm to structure as an actual business. March 30, 2019 Kiara signed an investment deal with 100K ventures. An investment firm of 12 influential people including Draymond Green, Victor Cruz, Soledad O’brien, Frank Thomas and Michael Strahan
Kalm has released over 400 items since its debut on October 15, 2016. With pure grit & God given talent, Kalm’s Founder & CEO continues to thrive creatively and drive the brand forward
